Newfangled
Licensed Newfoundland & Chow Chow Breeders
We are licensed breeders of Newfoundland Dogs and Chow Chows based in Northumberland, UK.
we are committed to preserving the health, temperament and breed type of these exceptional breeds.
Our breeding programme is built around fully health-tested dogs, carefully bred for sound temperament, correct structure and longevity, with every puppy and adult dog raised as a valued member of our family.
We are proud to have bred three home-bred UK Champions, with many more of our dogs gaining Challenge Certificates (CCs) and Reserve Challenge Certificates (RCCs) in the show ring.
As an active exhibitor and Kennel Club judge, showing is a huge passion of mine. I am also Chairperson of the North Eastern Chow Chow Club and founder of NECCC UK Chow Chow Welfare, where I work to support the breed through education, responsible ownership, welfare and rehoming.
Everything we do is centred around protecting the future of both breeds through responsible breeding, health testing, education and lifelong support for every puppy we breed.
Our aim is not simply to breed beautiful dogs, but healthy, sound companions that remain true to their breed standards and become cherished members of their families for life.
We occasionally have puppies available from carefully planned matings. If you would like to welcome a Newfoundland or Chow Chow from us into your family, we’d love to hear from you.

Life with 20 dogs!
From having more dog towels than human towels to painting the entry walls from the garden a darker colour so you can hang on a few more days before you wash them AGAIN, the number of times I have heard people say,
“Emma, not another Newfie! You already have enough!”
Enough? What is enough?
My guests now come to my home in their “Going to Emma’s clothes” and I own more dog walking outfits than I do pretty dresses. In fact, just about all the dresses I own now are frumpy show dresses in bright colours so the dog stands out against me in the ring… See what I am saying?
It is ALL about the dogs.
My beautiful and expensive fabric corner sofa? Gone! Swapped for a cheaper leather version… just wipe clean! My side of the bed? Taken! Looks like I’m sleeping on the couch! My nice dress ready for a hot date? Slobbered on just before I’m about to leave!
Am I painting a good picture here? A wet, muddy, slobbery, hairy, wonderful picture? I hope so, because I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
Please take a look around our website to meet our Newfoundlands and Chow Chows and learn a little more about us, our breeding programme, showing, judging and our passion for these wonderful breeds.
